getTING to HAY-ON-WYE

By road from the east via Severn Bridge & Abergavenny

Follow the M4 over the Severn Bridge to Junction 24 (Newport). Take the A449 and then the A40 to Abergavenny. Stay on the A40 until just after the village of Crickhowell, then turn right onto the A479 to Talgarth. From here take the road sign-posted to Three Cocks & Hay-on- Wye (A4079 end then right onto the A438). On reaching Three Cocks stay on the same road and continue on into Hay (B4350).

By road from the east via Cheltenham & Gloucester

Take the M40 to the outskirts of Oxford and then the A40 to Cheltenham and on to Gloucester. Stay on the A40 around Gloucester and on to Ross-on-Wye. At the Wilton roundabout outside Ross take the A49 to Hereford. After passing through Harewood End take the left tuming for Hay-on-Wye (B4348). Stay with the B4348 and follow the signposts for Hay.

By road from Birmingham and the Midlands

Take the M5 to junction 8 and then the M50 to Ross-on-Wye. Then take the A49 to Hereford. After passing through Harewood End take the left turn for Hay-on-Wye (B4348). Stay with the B4348 and follow the signposts to Hay passing through the villages of Kingstone, Peterchurch and Dorstone.

 
 
 

FROM Hay-on-wye

Leave Hay-on-Wye on the B4350 towards Brecon. As you come out of the 30 mile limit, you will see a layby on your left and a white house. Turn left here towards Llanigon. Go 0.9 miles up this road until you come to The Old Forge Garage (a used car garage) on your left. Turn immediately left up an unmarked road. Go ¾ mile up this narrow road and you will see the holiday cottages on your left. Park in front of the house and knock on the door of the main house opposite.

 
 
 

From Glasbury

Go out of Glasbury on the B4350 towards Hay-on-Wye. After about 1.5 miles you will see the Holly Bush Inn. Go on 600 metres and there is a sign to Llanigon. Turn right here onto Llanthomas Lane. Follow the lane until the end. Turn left and then immediately right before The Old Forge Garage (a used car garage). Go up an unmarked narrow road for ¾ mile and you will see the holiday cottages on your left.
